AI Platform Engineer

Blip is a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment. We operate at scale. As part of Flutter Entertainment, we play an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.

We are serious about Tech. We are problem-solvers with big ambitions, keeping a people-first mindset at the core of our work. We prioritize flexibility as we strive to deliver the best technological products and tackle the greatest industry cha lenges.

Recognizing that everyone brings their own strengths, backgrounds and new perspectives, we empower you to be yourself. That uniqueness shapes the culture of belonging we are so proud of.

The Role

Flutter Technology is recruiting an AI Engineer to design, architect, and deliver sophisticated AI-powered solutions that transform the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC). This role requires a proven engineer who can work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and lead the development of complex agentic AI systems from concept to production.

As a key member of the APEX (AI Powered Engineering Experience) team, you will own end-to-end delivery of AI capabilities that directly impact thousands of engineers. You'll architect solutions using cutting-edge agentic frameworks, design integration patterns for tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, and make critical technical decisions about platform direction. You'll work with production-scale LLM deployments on AWS Bedrock, design cloud-native infrastructure using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, and ensure our AI systems are reliable, performant, and cost-effective.

The right candidate brings hands-on experience deploying AI/ML systems in production, deep technical expertise across the PDLC/SDLC, and the ability to translate complex engineering problems into elegant AI-powered solutions. You'll thrive in ambiguity, take ownership of outcomes, and drive initiatives that set the technical standard for AI engineering at Flutter. This is a role for someone who wants to lead by example, influence platform architecture, and build systems that fundamentally change how software gets built.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and architect complex agentic AI systems that solve real PDLC challenges, from requirements to deployment.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of AI capabilities, taking ownership of technical decisions, implementation quality, and production outcomes.
  • Build production-grade agentic workflows using LangGraph, LangChain, and custom orchestration frameworks that scale reliably.
  • Deploy and operate LLM-powered services on AWS using Bedrock, Lambda, ECS, and other cloud-native services with strong observability.
  • Own infrastructure for AI workloads using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Crossplane, ensuring security, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Define integration patterns for AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ensuring seamless developer experience across the PDLC.
  • Make technical decisions about AI platform architecture, model selection, infrastructure design, and operational practices.
  • Establish standards for AI engineering practices including prompt design, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Drive technical initiatives that improve platform capabilities, developer productivity, or operational excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, platform engineers, and stakeholders to understand needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI technologies, conducting proof-of-concepts and making recommendations for platform evolution.
  • Ensure quality through comprehensive testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI systems in production.

What You’ll Bring

  • Technical Leadership (Ownership): We take ownership of complex problems and drive them to completion. We make decisions confidently, consider trade-offs carefully, and deliver results that move the platform forward.
  • Architectural Thinking (Systems Design): We design solutions that scale, are maintainable, and integrate cleanly with existing systems. We balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
  • Production Mindset (Operational Excellence): We build with production in mind—monitoring, alerting, incident response, and graceful degradation are first-class concerns, not afterthoughts.
  • AI Expertise (Deep Technical Knowledge): We understand LLMs, agentic systems, and AI engineering patterns deeply. We can evaluate model performance, debug prompt issues, and optimize for quality and cost.
  • P ragmatic Innovation (Balanced Risk-Taking): We embrace new technologies when they solve real problems, but we're not reckless. We prototype quickly, validate assumptions, and ship incrementally.
  • Influence Without Authority (Collaboration): We lead through expertise and example. We build consensus, communicate technical decisions clearly, and bring others along on the journey.

We’d Like You to Master In

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps with deep understanding of the full PDLC/SDLC.
  • Production AI Systems: Proven track record deploying and operating AI/ML systems in production, including LLM-based applications and agentic workflows.
  • Agentic AI Frameworks: Strong hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworks for building multi-step AI agents.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Advanced AWS knowledge including Bedrock, Lambda, ECS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and experience architecting cloud-native solutions.
  • Kubernetes & IaC: Solid experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and/or Crossplane for infrastructure provisioning and workload orchestration.
  • Programming Proficiency: Expert-level Python and experience with Go or other systems programming languages for building robust, performant applications.
  • System Design: Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines with consideration for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Developer Tooling: Deep familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) from both user and integration perspectives.
  • Observability & Operations: Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response for production systems (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Technical Initiative Leadership: History of leading technical projects or initiatives from conception through delivery, demonstrating autonomous execution.
  • Bonus Points: Experience with RAG systems, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate), model fine-tuning, or contributions to open-source AI projects. AWS certifications or experience with multi-cloud environments.
