The Role
Our software engineers are passionate about building high-performance, scalable distributed systems. In this role you will spend most of your time on the back-end — designing and maintaining robust distributed services — while also contributing to the front-end (React/Next.js) to deliver features end-to-end, from the API to the interface.
The ideal professional combines strong back-end experience and solid distributed systems architecture knowledge with working front-end skills and is comfortable owning a feature across the full stack. What You’ll be Doing
- Implement and maintain complex, large-scale distributed applications, always aiming for continuous improvement
- Provide rigorous and diligent support in code reviews, architectural decisions and the evaluation of appropriate technologies to solve specific problems
- Develop and maintain front-end functionalities using React and Next.js, ensuring an efficient, scalable and high-performance user experience, with consistency between web and mobile
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders in both intra-team and cross-functional projects, contributing to sprint planning and goal alignment
- Investigate and resolve bugs, as well as help resolve incidents related to the systems and processes managed by the team
- Create and maintain technical design documentation and other auxiliary documentation (e.g. runbooks) to keep track of decision-making and operational improvements
- Contribute to the quality and technological innovation of the product and the work environment.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience with back-end programming (e.g. Golang, C#)
- Experience developing distributed systems and messaging (e.g. Kafka, SQS, Kinesis)
- Good experience with SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (e.g. DynamoDB, Elasticsearch) and caching (e.g. Redis)
- Experience with good software engineering practices, CI/CD, design patterns and automated testing
- Working experience (2+ years) in front-end development with React and its ecosystem;
- Knowledge of automated testing, mainly unit testing and ideally also visual and end-to-end testing
- Experience with Git and GitHub
- Ease of learning new technologies and adapting to change
- Clear communication, collaborative teamwork, autonomy and proactivity in a dynamic environment
- Experience with high volume data and access platforms (as a plus)
- Experience with infrastructure (e.g. Kubernetes) and cloud (e.g. AWS) (as a plus)
- Experience with observability and performance tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus) (as a plus)
- Knowledge of containers and container orchestration (Docker and/or Kubernetes) (as a plus)
- Experience with React Native, Expo and Next.js (as a plus)
- Familiarity with the use of monolithic repositories and experience with GitHub Actions (as a plus).
