The Role
The Associate Cloud Engineer will contribute to the evaluation and selection of AWS services, code and configuration management tooling and the variety of components required to achieve our group strategic objectives.
You must be effective at articulating technology requirements, promoting cloud enablement, migrations and the methodologies required to reduce risk and achieve desired outcomes. You should be comfortable working with cross functional global teams in dynamic organisations, as the role will have interdependencies with teams in AWS, our partners, and our own engineering teams across various functions in various brands.
The right candidate will have experience working with enterprise organisations on large scale migration/modernisation transformation projects. This will have involved a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, coupled with a strong technical understanding to provide confidence and answer questions, an ability to engage and help crystallise business benefits of migrations, demonstrate an excellent technical understanding of cloud solutions, and a passion for cloud technologies.
What You’ll Be Doing;
- Build and operate a secure, performant, and cost-effective AWS Cloud Platform.
- Optimize reliability monitoring & alerting.
- Helping to implement our key organizational controls for the AWS
- Cloud technical leadership of complex, cross-company projects to deliver cloud foundational capabilities.
- Foster a self-service mindset across the business, enabling verticals to manage their own infrastructure.
- Assist in automating system deployment and operations using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.
- Maintain source code and artifact repositories.
- Write and review platform code, offering constructive feedback to ensure code quality.
- Create and drive adoption of standard operating procedures, policies, and runbooks.
- Facilitate the development and communication of Flutter Group standards for design, development, and deployment.
- Liaise with other group functions, building and maintaining relationships, and recognising opportunities for strategic collaboration.
- Assist in practicing sustainable incident response.
We'd Like You To Master In:
- Understanding of AWS technologies and their purpose
- Understanding of monitoring & alerting solutions.
- Researching and developing new technologies for public cloud deployments.
- Managing deployment assets such as EC2 AMIs, container images and artefacts.
- Managing Infrastructure as code using CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Kubernetes.
- Orchestration and management of container platforms, preferably using Kubernetes.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Sharing knowledge with your peers and across the wider engineering community.
- Working in an agile environment.
- Incident, change, problem, and risk management.
- Bonus points for previous software engineering experience, coding, and automation.
