External Communications & Employer Branding Manager

The Role
As an External Communications & Employer Branding Manager at Blip, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance our external visibility and strengthen our employer brand. This role is crucial in shaping our public image, attracting top talent, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. Reporting to the Head of Comms, Employer Branding & External Affairs, you will manage a team of communications and content specialists to bring us to a national leading position as a tech brand and employer of choice. Your creativity and strategic thinking will result in inspiring and impactful initiatives driving us to success.

What You'll Be Doing
Brand Strategy and Management:

  • Develop and implement brand strategies that align with our location strategy, outcomes and key results.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels, including digital platforms, social media, press and corporate communications.
  • Manage and oversee brand guidelines, ensuring adherence to branding standards across all touchpoints.
  • Cement a strong tech brand positioning by ensuring consistency, credibility and the right frequency of tech-driven communication across all our external channels.


External Communications:

  • Create and execute comprehensive external communication plans to convey critical messages to target audiences.
  • Develop compelling content for various channels, including but not limited to press, websites, and social media.
  • Coordinate with global and corporate comms teams to ensure that our external presence as Blip and Flutter is showcased in a way that aligns with the group's 
  • overarching principles.
  • Handle media inquiries, press releases, and public statements, maintaining solid relationships with media professionals and journalists.
  • Organize and oversee events, institutional campaigns and other external-driven initiatives.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication frameworks and plans to protect the company's reputation during adverse situations.


External Affairs

  • Understand and be updated on the relevant institutional landscape surrounding Blip on a regional and national level.
  • Build meaningful relationships that maximize the existing partnerships in Blip’s favour. Proactively builds impactful partnerships with relevant third parties.
  • Employer Branding:
  • Craft and promote the company's employer brand to attract top talent by highlighting the company EVP, culture, values, and employee experiences.
  • Develop and manage employer branding content for various platforms, including social media, the company website, and the career site.
  • Constructs a clear roadmap of planned and coordinated participation in job fairs, networking events, and other activities.


Digital and Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop an overarching external communications strategy that encompasses all digital channels, including, but not limited to, websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and landing pages.
  • Develop strategies to increase visibility and interaction with target audiences.
  • Expertise and knowledge of performance marketing tools to overview the different in-house/agency advertised-based social media campaigns and initiatives and report on results.
     

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Leads and mentors a team of employer brand and external communication professionals
  • Collaborate with Blip's key HR teams, such as People Partnering, Reward, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and DEI, to ensure cohesive brand 
  • messaging.
  • Connect meaningfully with Blip’s Leadership Team to ensure endorsement and visibility of the key Employer Branding initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborates with global and divisional external comms and employer branding teams to get alignment on the topics that impact those same regional and central teams, while highlighting and securing the amplification in those Flutter external channels
  • Oversees the performance of external agencies and vendors to ensure cohesive and effective outsourced communication initiatives and campaigns.
  • Create and maintain collaboration and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.


Performance Measurement and Reporting:

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of branding and communication efforts.
  • Adjust strategies based on performance data and market feedback.
  • Report on communication outcomes and provide insights to the key location stakeholders.


Budget Management:

  • Manage budget planning and allocation for the external communications and employer branding department to ensure efficient use of resources.


We Hope You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, communications, and employer branding, preferably within the tech industry.
  • 2+ years in a communications management position.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (EN).
  • Strong media relations skills with an understanding of the media landscape.
  • Expertise in crisis communication and ability to manage high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in content creation and management across various platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Experience with market research and data analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
