Identity and Access Engineering Manager

The Shared Platforms Operations team is a pivotal force within Group Functions, driving the success of Flutter’s in-house strategic platforms that power multiple brands across the group. This team not only crafts and steers the co-creation strategy and vision for these platforms but also ensures seamless divisional alignment across various areas. They are the champions of Inner Source, the co-creation strategy within strategic platforms, empowering our brands to innovate and excel across the Flutter ecosystem. 

The Role  

As the Team Leader of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, your primary responsibility will be to lead and coordinate a team of engineers who provide IAM services using SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) platform. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of user identities and access rights across the organization. 

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our squad, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and optimally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Identity and Access Management Security and the ability to lead and empower a team.  

The successful candidate should expect occasional international travel to UKI offices, which include Dublin, Cluj, Leeds, and London. 

What You’ll Be Doing  

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our squad, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Identity and Access Management Security and the ability to lead and motivate a team.  

  • Responsible for running and, maintaining Flutter UKI’s IGA(s). You will continuously seek ways to improve our approach to automating access governance for our stakeholders, ensuring compliance with the Identity & Access policies, internal standards and SOXL; 

  • Key contributor to the IAM strategy and roadmap; 

  • Lead a team of IAM engineers who are helping with automating access governance activities including application integrations, regular access recertification, user lifecycle management and policy violations; 

  • Provide support and guidance to the business regarding the application onboarding into IGA tools. 

  • Own the technical aspects (HOW) for onboarding applications into IGA tools; 

  • Ensure support for any internal and external audits asks is delivered by the team;  

  • Ability to share information and work collaboratively across the organisation;  

  • Set team goals, define project priorities, and ensure the accurate completion of tasks; 

  • Establish a collaborative and inclusive work culture, where employees are encouraged to share insights and work together;  

  • Collaborate with partners and team members to understand business requirements and translate them into effective IAM solutions;  

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IAM trends, technologies and regulations to improve the team's capabilities;  

  • Define and track metrics that monitor the success and impact of the services provided. 

   

What You’ll Bring  

Identity & Access management skills: 

  • Proven experience and engineering background, 

  • Good understanding of system integrations, software engineering, systems engineering, or relevant technical fields; 

  • Good understanding of OOP with previous experience in one programming language (Java, C++, C#..); 

  • Good understanding of Process and Service design, automation, and operationalization; 

  • Familiarity with modern development frameworks, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices; 

  • Ability to align engineering goals with the overall business strategy; 

  • A strong communicator and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure; 

  • Results-oriented with the ability to influence outcomes with a hands-on attitude; 

  • Ability to take complex and technical concepts and successfully communicating these to non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Experience of leading culturally and globally diverse teams;
