Associate Backend Developer

The Role

Our Developers know their stuff – they're busy working independently and setting high standards.  


As an Associate Backend Engineer, you are part of a Software Development Team, responsible for the full lifecycle of an application.  

Reporting to a Delivery Manager in a delivery team formed by 5 Developers and 1 QA, you will be using cutting-edge technologies to deliver amazing value to our customers, while scaling our platform to meet the demands of worldwide markets. 

 
What you will be doing?

As a team player in an Agile Team, working together to keep delivering at pace, scale and with demanded quality to support our products you will be able to:

  • Work independently on a variety of tasks and see them through to completion;

  • Identify and discuss possible solutions with the team and proactively anchor the decision;

  • Apply your good working knowledge of the primary programming language and complete most tasks with some guidance.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Ideally has, at least, 1 year of proven track experience working with Java (preferable, 8+) or similar OOP Languages;

  • Can complete user stories will small to medium level of complexity and perform defect corrections, by coding, testing and applying best practices in delivering quality software;

  • Is capable of implementing various types of tests to their own code, like unit, component and integration tests;

  • Is able to participate, learn and contribute to code reviews;


We´d love to see someone who:

  • Has experience working with Kafka and message queueing systems;

  • Has Knowledge of Scala, Akka, Memcached, Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, ZooKeeper;

  • Has basic knowledge of performance optimization

  • Shows knowledge of common modeling approaches – you'll be capable of overcoming simple challenges;

  • Grasps reusability techniques (e.g. design patterns, library extraction, new component creation) and identify some of the appropriate usages;
